Six Grey County paramedics receive Medical Directors’ Commendation Awards
Six Grey County paramedics have been recognized by the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital for providing exceptional prehospital care. Paramedics Reid Milne-O'Neil, Jay Thomson, Autumn Colwell, Todd Neerhof, Lynda Fiske, and Andre Lefebvre were presented awards during a special presentation at Grey County Council on June 12, 2025.
Dr. Sunil Mehta presented the awards on behalf of the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital program.
“These paramedics were involved in remarkably stressful situations. All six of them demonstrated excellent care, excellent reasoning, and exceptional strength in providing the best care possible to their patients in unusually difficult scenarios,” said Dr. Mehta.
The Medical Directors Commendation Award is awarded to paramedics who demonstrate excellence in prehospital and paramedic care. Recipients displayed outstanding clinical judgement and leadership during a dramatic call.
Grey County Paramedic Chief Kevin McNab expressed his gratitude to his team and congratulated them on their accomplishment. “I’m incredibly proud of Lynda, Autumn, Andre, Todd, Jay and Reid for their professionalism and the exceptional job they do on every shift and every call. Working as a paramedic is a mentally and physically demanding role and I’m grateful they are being recognized by the base hospital for their commitment and dedication to supporting community care in Grey County,” said Chief McNab.
