Rockwood Terrace respiratory outbreak declared over

August 29, 2025 - Yesterday, Public Health declared the respiratory outbreak over on the 3rd floor home area at Rockwood Terrace.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our dedicated team members for their ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents. We also appreciate the support from our designated care partners and families. Our thanks as well to Grey Bruce Public Health for their collaboration and support as we managed the outbreak.

The safety of our residents remains our primary focus, and we will continue with regular infection prevention and control audits and hand hygiene audits. August 15, 2025 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 3rd Floor home area at Rockwood Terrace. There are currently 3 residents experiencing symptoms, with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. Roommates, as well as high-risk contacts, are being actively monitored to help prevent further spread.

We continue to work in partnership with Public Health and are monitoring the situation closely. As part of our outbreak response, the following measures are in effect:

  • Universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors.
  • Increased surveillance and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits and hand hygiene audits.
  • Dining will be separated for the 2 floors, and a second break room has been set up to cohort staff members.
  • Surgical masks or additional PPE are required when entering an isolation room.
    • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.
  • Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner (DCP).
