Rockwood Terrace COVID-19 Outbreak Declared
Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the 2nd and 3rd floor home areas at Rockwood Terrace. Currently, five residents are experiencing symptoms. Preliminary test results have returned positive for COVID-19, with additional results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care.
We are working closely with our Public Health partners and monitoring the situation closely. As part of our outbreak response, the following measures are in effect:
- Home wide universal masking (medical mask) has been implemented for all staff and visitors.
- Medical masks or additional PPE are required when entering an isolation room, with PPE signage posted at the resident’s room.
- Residents in isolation are limited to one (1) Designated Care Partner (DCP).
- General visitors are limited to one (1) per resident on the 2nd and 3rd floor home areas.
- Increased surveillance and enhanced infection prevention and control measures are in place, including audits and hand hygiene audits.
The safety and wellbeing of our residents, families, and staff is our focus. We encourage all visitors to remain current with recommended vaccinations, especially those that protect against respiratory illnesses such as influenza and COVID-19. As a reminder, please refrain from visiting the home if you are feeling unwell. If you require additional information, please contact the home at 519-369-6035.
