Respiratory outbreak declared over at Lee Manor

Update December 30: 

Public Health has declared the respiratory outbreak over on the 3 North home area at Lee Manor.

We would like to thank our team members for their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents.  We also appreciate the support from our designated care partners and families. Grey Bruce Public Health were valuable contributors to the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their guidance and assistance.  

The safety of our residents, families, and staff remains our primary focus. We will continue with regular infection prevention and control audits as well as hand hygiene audits. Home wide universal masking (medical mask) remains in place for all staff and visitors.

We encourage all visitors to stay up to date with recommended vaccinations, especially those that protect against respiratory illnesses such as influenza and COVID-19.  As a reminder, please refrain from visiting the home if you are feeling unwell. Update December 29, 9:30 a.m. - 

On December 26th, Public Health declared the Covid-19 outbreak over on the 3 South home area at Lee Manor.

Update December 18 -  On December 17, 

Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 3 North home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored.

As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place on the 3 South home area as we manage the COVID-19 and Rhinovirus outbreak.

We are working with our Public Health partners and closely monitoring the situation. Enhanced infection control protocols are in place. In response, we are taking the following steps:

  • Home-wide universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors.
  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits, and hand hygiene audits.
  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Surgical masks or N95 masks are required when entering an isolation room.
    • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.
  • Designated Care Partners are reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit for residents on the 3 South and 3 North home areas.
  • We recommend that general visitors for the 3rd floor postpone their visit until the outbreaks have resolved.

Update December 2, 2025 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 3 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored.

As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place on the 1 South and 2 South home areas. Test results have returned identifying two infectious agents; COVID-19 and Influenza A for the 1 South home area, with test results pending for the 2 South home area.

We are working with our Public Health partners and closely monitoring the situation. Enhanced infection control protocols are in place. In response, we are taking the following steps:

  • Home-wide universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors.

  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits, and hand hygiene audits.

  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Surgical masks or N95 masks are required when entering an isolation room.

    • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.

  • Designated Care Partners are reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit for residents in isolation.

  • We recommend that general visitors postpone their visit until the outbreaks have resolved.

November 28, 2025 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 2 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms, with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored.

As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place on the 1 South home area. Rapid antigen test results have returned positive for COVID-19 for two residents, with further test results pending.


November 26, 2025 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 1 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently four residents experiencing respiratory symptoms with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored.
