Respiratory outbreak declared over at Lee Manor

May 26, 2025 - Public Health has declared the respiratory outbreak over on the 3 South home area at Lee Manor. We would like to thank our team members for their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents. The team quickly identified symptoms and prevented further spread using ongoing infection prevention and control measures.  We truly appreciate the support from our designated care partners and families. Grey Bruce Public Health were valuable contributors to the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their guidance and assistance.  

The safety of our residents, families, and staff remains our primary focus, and we will continue with regular infection prevention and control audits and hand hygiene audits. May 16, 2025 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 3 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms with test results pending. The affected residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored.

We are working with our Public Health partners and closely monitoring the situation. Enhanced infection control protocols are in place as we take swift action to halt the spread of the virus. In response, we are taking the following steps:

• Universal masking (surgical mask) has been implemented for all staff and visitors on the 3 South home area.
• All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Surgical masks or N95 masks are required when entering an isolation room.
  • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.
• Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner (DCP).
• Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits, and hand hygiene audits.
