On October 24, 2016, Savanna Myers will join Grey County as the Manager of Economic Development.

Myers has diverse experience in private and public sector marketing and communication and she knows Grey County well. Myers was raised in the area and has been working for the Town of Hanover for the past four years as the Economic Development and Communications Coordinator. Over this period she was involved with a variety of initiatives including the launch of an Economic Development Strategy, the award-winning Downtown Revitalization Project and the greatly admired LaunchPad Youth Activity & Technology Centre.

“We’re very excited to have Savanna on board and leading our economic development efforts,” said Kim Wingrove, Chief Administrative Officer. “Savanna has a fantastic understanding of Grey County and the challenges and opportunities in our diverse communities. Her experience, ambition and personality make her an excellent fit for this collaborative position.”

As Manager of Economic Development, Myers will support economic growth by promoting Grey County as a great place to invest, work and live. She will also be a resource for the business community by proving a wide range of supports and services.

Expanding prosperity is one of Grey County Council`s key strategic goals.

“Economic growth and a strong and healthy local economy are important to residents and business owners throughout Grey County,” said Grey County Warden Alan Barfoot. “Under Savanna’s leadership we will move forward with achieving the goals put forward in our Economic Development Strategic Plan.”

Grey County launched the first ever `Made in Grey` Economic Development Strategic plan in 2015.

Savanna is eager to join the County and start her new role.

“I’m excited to join the Grey County team, bringing my expertise and drive to build on the economic development momentum already achieved,” said Myers. I look forward to working alongside business and community leaders across the County to accomplish mutual goals that carry us all forward as a region that’s open for business.”
