Important Information

General visitors at indoor and outdoor visiting stations are required to undergo active surveillance screening and rapid antigen testing.

Special considerations for hugging and shaking hands with residents: Public Health Grey Bruce recommends that all visitors to long-term care homes maintain physical distancing and avoid hugging and handshaking, since all direct physical contact with residents increases the resident’s risk of infection.

However, we understand that you may wish to hug or shake the hand of your loved one during your visit. If you do, the following rules will apply:

You many only hug or shake the hand of your loved one at the beginning and end of your indoor visit, and for no longer than 30 seconds at a time. (Shorter hugs and handshakes lower the risk of virus transmission). Immediately before and after any hug or handshake, both the resident and the visitor must perform hand hygiene (through proper hand sanitizer use or handwashing) to reduce the risk of virus transmission. If you have a child under the age of 18 accompanying you on your visit, they must also follow these rules. [Masks must continue to be worn by visitors at all times.]
