Overview of Development: The County has received an application for a draft plan of subdivision application known as the ‘West Grey Police Station Subdivision’ (42T-2025-06). The Municipality of West Grey is the owner of the subject lands, and the applicant for the proposed development. The development would facilitate the creation of 14 semi-detached residential lots; 13 townhouse residential lots; one block of multi-unit residential development; an institutional block to situate a new police station; stormwater management blocks, and two new public street (Streets A and B). The subject lands are 3.356 hectares in size.
The Municipality of West Grey has also initiated a Zoning By-law Amendment (ZA29.2025) that would re-zone the lands from ‘Institutional,’ ‘Natural Environment’ and ‘High Density Residential’ (with a holding provision) to ‘I - Institutional,’ ‘OS566 - Open Space with Exception,’ ‘R3 - High Density Residential,’ and ‘R2- Medium Density Residential.’
The subject lands are designated ‘Primary Settlement Area’ in Schedule A of the Grey County Official Plan. There are ‘Significant Woodlands’ located approximately 100 meters north-east of the subject lands and ‘other wetlands’ approximately 50 meters to the south.
To support this proposal, numerous studies and reports have been submitted by West Grey, including a planning justification report, archaeology report, functional servicing report, stormwater management report, a surface water analysis and a draft plan. All submitted material is available to review on the County and Municipal websites.
