Lee Manor Respiratory Update - 2 North and 2 South

September 5 - We are pleased to report that the respiratory outbreak on the 2 North home area at Lee Manor has been declared over. We thank our team members for their continued dedication to the safety and well-being of our residents. We truly appreciate the support from our designated care partners and families and are thankful for the assistance of Grey Bruce Public Health in managing the outbreak.

The team at Lee Manor continues to manage the 2 South respiratory outbreak. Outbreak protocols remain in place on the 2 South home area and the following enhancements are in place to help manage the outbreak:

  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
  • Universal masking for all staff and visitors on the 2nd South.
  • General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on 2 South.
  • Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner.

August 30 - Public Health has declared a respiratory outbreak on the 2 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently seven residents experiencing respiratory symptoms. They are isolating and receiving care. Roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored. One lab result has returned, identifying the agent as parainfluenza. As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place for the 2 North home area. We are working with our Public Health partners and closely monitoring the situation.

Outbreak protocols and the following enhancements are in place to help manage the outbreaks:

  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
  • Infection prevention and control audits, and hand hygiene audits.
  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
  • Universal masking has been implemented for all staff and visitors on the 2nd floor.
  • General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on 2 North and 2 South.
  • Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner.
