Gastrointestinal outbreak declared over at Grey Gables - Pine Ridge Home Area

October 14 - Over the weekend, Public Health declared the gastrointestinal outbreak over on the Pine Ridge home area at Grey Gables. We would like to thank our team members for their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents. The team quickly identified symptoms and prevented further spread using ongoing infection prevention and control measures. Grey Bruce Public Health were valuable contributors to the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their guidance and assistance.  

The safety of our residents, families, and staff remains our primary focus, and we will continue with regular infection prevention and control audits and hand hygiene audits. October 9 - Public Health has declared a gastrointestinal outbreak on the Pine Ridge home area at Grey Gables. There are currently two residents experiencing symptoms. The symptomatic residents are isolating and receiving care.

Enhanced infection control protocols are in place and the following steps have been implemented:

• All staff are following outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
• Residents in isolation are limited to one (1) Designated Care Partner (DCP) and additional PPE will be provided.
• General visitors are reduced to one (1) per resident visit on the Pine Ridge home area.
• Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits and hand hygiene audits.
