We want Grey County to be inclusive and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities. As part of Recolour Grey, we recently partnered with students from the University of Guelph to look at policies that better support youth and older adults.
For this study, students reviewed findings from other communities and reached out to the community for feedback. The study was endorsed by Grey County Council in the spring of 2017 and findings will be included in the next update of the official plan.
Grey County is rebuilding Rockwood Terrace in Durham. The new facility will include 128 long-term care beds, 40 assisted living units, and a market square.
Regional Job Fairs are back and in person! Three regional job fairs are planned for Hanover, Owen Sound and Meaford. A number of full-time, part-time and seasonal positions will be available to support various industries.

Grey County is in the design stage for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Grey Road 3 and Grey Road 4 east of Hanover in the Municipality of West Grey. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction during the summer of 2023. Below is an overview of the roundabout design.
Grey County has initiated an amendment to our County Official Plan, Recolour Grey, to update our residential and employment growth forecasts, and other housekeeping matters.
This strategy and action focuses on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) eight age-friendly community domains: outdoor spaces and public buildings, transportation, housing, respect and social inclusion, civic participation and employment, community and information, community support and health services, and social participation.
The Emergency Child Care for Targeted Frontline Workers program is scheduled to end on Friday, January 14 and applications are now closed.
Grey County is reviewing the Forest Management By-Law and will be considering updates. This by-law regulates tree harvesting and removal and promotes woodland preservation.

Grey County, in collaboration with Simcoe County and the Town of the Blue Mountains, are preparing to make upgrades to the Grey Road 19/21 corridor between the Town of Collingwood and Blue Mountain Village.
