Support from Designated Care Partners (DCPs)
Staffing in the home continues to be strained. We have activated our staffing contingency plans and are grateful for the added assistance DCPs play in the ongoing care of residents. Mealtimes are especially challenging as we provide in-room dining during the isolation period. If you are a DCP it would be immensely helpful if you could consider visiting your loved one over a mealtime to provide some extra support.

We realize entering a home in outbreak can be concerning, but we take the health and safety of our DCPs seriously. N95 masks and face shields are available to all DCPs upon entering the home and should be worn at all times to ensure adequate protection.
We are blessed to have such a dedicated care support team in the home. Thank you to all our DCPs, staff, and care partners for their ongoing devotion during this difficult time.

Further responses to protect our residents and workforce
With the increasing number of positive cases in the home and our community in general, we are increasing response measures to protect our residents and staff. The following responses are now in motion:

  • Tray service is being provided to all residents for in-room dining.
  • Staff are switching to N95 masks on the second floor, and when caring for residents in isolation on 3rd Floor.

It is critical we use the tools we have to protect our residents and our workforce at this critical time.  We are also implementing enhanced visiting restrictions at our other County homes (Grey Gables and Lee Manor) to increase protection of our staff so contingency support is available is needed.

We continue to work closely with our partners at public health and the safety and wellbeing of our residents and our staff remains our priority.
