Process & Turnaround Time
Once the completed entrance permit and payment have been received at the Grey County Transportation Services Department office, it can take up to 10 business days for the permit to be reviewed and signed off by all parties at the County. During this period, the entrance location is visited by County personnel in the field to ensure that it meets the County’s specifications for a road access location. It is then returned to the office where it is signed off by the Director. Then the approved permit is returned by mail to the applicant with instruction to proceed to have the entrance installed. Should the entrance not meet specifications, County personnel will contact the applicant and advise them of the problem.
Once an entrance has been installed, contact the office and request an entrance inspection. Once again County personnel will visit the entrance location and view the work that has been done. If all requirements of the permit have been met, the County will process the refund of the deposit. It can take up to three (3) weeks for a cheque to be processed.
If the entrance does not meet County specifications, the applicant will be advised of what is required to properly finish the entrance. Once this remedial work is completed, the applicant must once again request an entrance inspection and have it passed by County personnel prior to the deposit being refunded.
