How do I apply for Long Term Care?

Your local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) determines eligibility and coordinates the application process for long-term care.  For more information about the process please contact your local CCAC or visit their website at ccac-ont.ca for more detailed information.

What kind of accommodation is available and is there subsidization?

Long-term care homes offer different types of accommodation which includes private, semi and basic accommodation.  Based on the individual’s income, subsidization may be available for basic accommodation.

Is there accommodation for couples?

Yes, our homes can accommodate couples who wish to share a room.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes, the long-term care homes do have a waiting list which is managed by CCAC.  The CCAC determines an individual’s priority for the list.

Are there extra costs for services outside of the accommodation rate?

Some examples of extra costs outside of the accommodation rate include telephone, cable, hairdressing services, foot care and dental care.

Is there registered staff on duty 24 hours per day?

The homes staffing patterns include both registered nurses and registered practical nurses.

How do I arrange for a tour?

A tour can be arranged by contacting the home directly by either phone or e-mail.

Are the activities programs geared to all levels of residents?

The Activation staff organizes and provides a wide variety of programs for the enjoyment of the residents.
