Neustadt
Located on Grey Road 10, just south of Hanover, Neustadt is set in picturesque rolling hills. A spring-fed brewery, in operation since 1859, is one of many heritage stone buildings inviting photographers to linger in this intriguing village. There are also many shops including jewelry, antiques and collectibles.
Historical Facts
- Neustadt means "new town" in German, the language of many early settlers
- An underground tunnel allowed an early brewer to walk to work, protected from the weather
- Neustadt was incorporated as a village in 1907
- United with Bentinck, Normanby and Glenelg townships to form the Municipality of West Grey in 2000

Community Facilities and Points of Interest
- Birthplace of the Right Honourable John G. Diefenbaker, Canada's Prime Minister, from 1957 to 1963 on Barbara Street. This house is now open as a Museum.
